Unaddressed hearing loss has far reaching functional, social and emotional impact and poses an annual global cost of $750 billion (WHO). Due to practical, stigmatic and financial barriers 83% of those who could benefit from use of a hearing aid are not using one. Audus wants to serve the nearly 500 million people worldwide that are experiencing disabling hearing loss (WHO) by providing them with cloud based low-cost technology that will dramatically improve their hearing. Of crucial importance for the development of this technology is the use of 5G, as its reduced latency compared to 4G is pivotal for use of our technology in live speech.
